YHA Bristol is situated between the Harbourside and Old City areas of Bristol in the heart of the city there are views over the waterways. The waterfront grainhouse has been sympathetically restored to create a relaxing yet cosmopolitan atmosphere. Visit the magnificent Avon Gorge, Brunel's suspension bridge or enjoy Bristol's cultural base that extends from theatres, museums and art galleries to a thriving live music and club scene.

Opening information: Open every day of the year. 24 hour reception facilities and access. YHA Bristol is only 10-15 minutes walk from Bristol Temple Meads train station. There is very little free or cheap car parking in the centre of Bristol, however there is a multi-storey car park nearby.

Cheddar

Cheddar Gorge is an adventure playground for all and this hostel is in the thick of the action. The modernised Victorian house sits in the village below the dramatic gorge that has the highest limestone cliffs in England. There's an exciting underground world to discover in Cheddar's incredible caves and Wookey Hole, just six miles away. The Mendip Hills and Somerset Levels will keep walkers busy while families will want to travel the 12 miles to the traditional seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare.

Exford

This Victorian house stands in its own grounds on the bank of the River Exe in Exford village. In the centre of Exmoor National Park, it's the ideal base for families and individuals to explore the open hills and wooded valleys all around. You may even be lucky enough to spot a red deer. Dunkery Beacon, Porlock Weir and Dunster Castle are all nearby while Exmoor and the Somerset coast are on the doorstep.

Opening information: Available all year. Reception Open: 07.30 - 10.00 hrs and 17.00 - 22.00 hrs. Public transport limited, please check before you depart. Due to the location of YHA Exford fireworks are not permitted.

Pinkery Bunkhouse, Simonsbath

YHA Pinkery Bunkhouse is a former Victorian farmstead, converted to provide fantastic accommodation for groups in stunning isolation on Exmoor. Owned and run by the Exmoor National Park Authority, the centre offers a comfortable lounge and dining room, well equipped self-catering kitchen and all rooms have en-suite shower and toilet facilities. The surrounding area provides safe open recreation space and mountain bike hire and guided walks can be arranged for you. YHA Pinkery Bunkhouse is also an Eco-Centre, featuring a photovoltaic roof and wind turbine to reduce the impact of your break on the environment.

Opening information: Staff available for welcoming groups between 10am and 10pm. Member of staff on call at all times. 24 hour access. NOTE: Only available to sole use groups of at least 26 people.

Street (Glastonbury)

Overlooking Glastonbury Tor, this Swiss-style chalet is surrounded by National Trust land and feels like a quiet retreat. However, it's within easy reach of the Mendip Hills, Somerset Levels, mystical Glastonbury and historic Wells. The amenities of the town of Street are also close by.
