Cheddar Gorge![]() Opening hoursOpen Every Day (except Christmas Eve & Christmas Day). During the Easter, May & Whitsun School Holidays and throughout July & August we open at 10.00am and close at 5.30pm - however the last admission to the caves, the Museum, the bus is 5.00pm and our Explorers Café-Bar closes at 4.30pm. Throughout the rest of the year, we open at 10.30am and close at 5.00pm - however the last admission to the caves, the Museum, the bus is 4.30pm and our Explorers Café-Bar closes at 4.00pm. Our Gorge Tour Bus operates during the February Half Term, at weekends until Easter, daily until the end of September, at weekends until the end of October, and daily during the October/November Half Term. Our open-top Gorge Tour Bus does not operate when it is raining. The centrepece of the gorge is the Cheddar show caves, where Britain's oldest complete human skeleton, Cheddar Man, estimated to be 9,000 years old, was found in 1903. |
