It is a superbly convenient holiday base for the world heritage city of Bath with it’s historic buildings, world famous theatre and river trips, as well as the city of Wells, Glastonbury Tor, Longleat House and Safari Park, Chedder Gorge and caves, Stourhead and Wookey Hole. Close by is the village of Kilmersden, home to the nursery rhyme Jack and Jill.

There are local shops and takeaway in the village of Coleford 2 miles away. There are several sandy and dramatic coastal beaches to the west and south, such as Lyme Regis, Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea. It also makes a perfect place from which to cycle, walk, play golf and horse ride. There are facilities on site to bring your own horse by prior arrangement with the owner.

The village of Chew Magna is set in beautiful Somerset countryside only a few miles from Bristol, and boasts a total of 50 buildings of special architectural or historic interest. The nearby Chew Valley Lake offers excellent opportunities for fishing, walking, cycling and bird watching.

Also the Mendip Hills, the Quantocks and the Somerset Levels are all nearby. Many attractions are on the doorstep - Cheddar Gorge and Caves, Wookey Hole Paper Mill and Caves, the small city of Wells with Glastonbury Tor and Abbey.

The Roman spa city of Bath is 12 miles away, and the endless sandy beaches and seaside resort at Weston-Super-Mare are an easy drive.
