Holly Tree Farm lies in the Vale of Avalon with views of Glastonbury Tor on the outskirts of the pretty Somerset village of West Pennard. The farm is approached via a private road through the paddocks, which are home to the owner’s horses, and a small flock of sheep. Stabling is available for your own horse with use of all weather dressage arena (extra cost). The barn is attached to the owner’s farmhouse, a warm welcome awaits but privacy is assured with private entrance and patio. There is much to see and do in the area with a choice of attractions to suit all tastes. See the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey, the Tor and the Chalice Well. Visit Wells, our smallest city and walk through the cobbled streets to see the gothic Cathedral and the Bishops Palace. Nearby are Bath with its Spa and Roman Baths, the East Somerset Railway that meanders through the Mendip countryside, Longleat and the Dorset coastal town of Lyme Regis. There are several National Trust properties close by and water babies can enjoy the sports facilities available at Chew Valley Lakes. Have a game of pool or table tennis in the adjacent games barn or in the evenings simply relax and soak up the glorious sunsets whilst playing croquet, or enjoy a dip in the pool and a BBQ under the apple trees.

The barn features an attractive vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, tiled floors and woodburner for those cooler out of season breaks. The accommodation offers one bedroom: double, king-size zip-and-link (separates into twin), en-suite shower room with WC and underfloor heating. Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan, lounge area with TV, DVD and full Sky package (except movies). Kitchen area with 2 ring hob and oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave, Washing machine and tumble dryer are available (honesty box charges apply). Windsorgrove Cottage has been refurbished to a good standard and is set in the unique country village of High Ham in the heart of Somerset. The setting is perfect for long summer evenings with a glass of local cider or as a cosy retreat in the winter time. Just a short drive away are the towns of Glastonbury, Street, Wells and Taunton; a little further out lies Bath and Exmoor National Park. There are many National Trust properties in the surrounding area, High Ham's own unique thatched windmill being one. There are several sandy and dramatic coastal beaches to the north and south, such as Lyme Regis and Burnham-on-Sea. It also makes a perfect place from which to cycle, walk, fish, birdwatch and go horse riding. There are facilities on site to bring your own horse, this should be arranged prior to your stay to avoid disappointment (charge on request).

The accommodation has flagstone floors throughout and offers one bedroom: double that can be made into a twin on request. There is additional sleeping for 1 person on a sofa bed in the lounge and is available on request. Shower room: with WC. Lounge/diner: spacious area with TV, Freeview, DVD, hi-fi and french windows. Kitchen: well-equipped with electric cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. The village itself has a 12th century church and craft centre which offers pottery and glass blowing as well as a family pub providing good food. You will be well placed to explore the area including the towns of Glastonbury with its Tor and Abbey, shop at the Clarks retail village in Street, or visit Cheddar Gorge and Wells or enjoy a walk over the Quantock Hills, all this within an hours drive. A little further out lie the historic City of Bath and Exmoor National Park. There are several sandy and dramatic coastal beaches to the north and south, such as Lyme Regis, Sidemouth and Burnham-On-Sea. The Tea Chest also makes a perfect place from which to cycle, walk, fish, watch the birds or go horse riding. At the end of a full day unwind in the beautiful garden with a glass of wine.
