This area offers an excellent base from which to explore the Mendip Hills and Somerset Levels with tourist attractions such as Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole very popular with the youngsters. The beaches of eastern Somerset are some of the best in the county, with Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea the most popular.

Magical Glastonbury, picturesque Wells and Georgian Bath are well worth a visit. There are excellent transport links, the nearby M5 motorway ensuring that the sights and shopping malls of Bristol, or the towns and villages of Dorset lie within easy reach.

This area offers an excellent base from which to explore the steep hills and coombes of Exmoor, or the rolling Quantock Hills as well as venturing further west into Devon.

The beaches between Porlock Weir and East Quantoxhead, including Minehead, Dunster, Blue Anchor and Watchet are just a short drive away, whilst the shopping centres at Wellington, Taunton and Bridgwater are easily accessible too.
