Caravans and Camp Sites in Langport, Somerset
Caravan and camping holidays have come a long way in recent years! A little preparation can make them an economical holiday to please the parents and an adventure to please the kids.
Bowdens Crest Caravan & Campsite

Bowdens Crest overlooks the Somerset Levels & Moors, with the Quantock Hills in the foreground and the Blackdown hills behind them. A lovely area to sit, unwind and enjoy time just passing by. The Childrens playarea is situated to the right of this area, so parents can keep an eye on them. Unfortunately, it is not possible to see the view from any of the pitches or the Static Caravans.
Camping & Touring area: This area is suitable for Touring Caravans, Tents, Trailer Tents & Motorhomes. It is open plan. Electric hookup's are situated around the edge of the field. We are unable to take tents larger than 8m x 5m at anytime on these pitches. All non-hookup pitches are situated in the centre of the field. If you want to charge your phone or other equipment, our Games Room has several sockets which you are welcome to use. We do not make a charge for this service and you must be responsible for the equipment whilst charging. The whole area is set on White Lias Stone and therefore drains extremely well, and it is advisable to bring some rock pegs with you (we also sell them in the shop). Because we are so high up overlooking the Somerset Levels, there is no need to worry about flooding.

Thorney Lakes

A haven of peace, quiet and relaxation. So relax, soak up the silence and live life at a gentler pace...
A family run business established in 1993, the setting attracts a host of wildlife and regularly visited by otters, badgers, rabbits, deer and 70 species of birdlife (RSPB survey), including kingfishers nesting on site.
Just a short level walk from the caravan park, the two miles of nature trails are perfect for a short stroll or to enjoy a chat with the local fisher folk about the ‘one that got away!’ There is ample parking, a thatched shelter and disabled access. Our traditional beef and cereal farm has earned a ‘Somerset Otter’ award for conservation and we pride ourselves in taking good care of this picturesque landscape. Our secluded lakes cover approximately 4 acres and are well stocked with a selection of course fish including large carp, (up to 25lbs).
The Somerset Levels are ideal for walking (the ‘Parrett Trail’ is within 100 yards) cycling, bird watching (RSPB reserves nearby) golf or visiting National Trust properties and gardens etc.
