W-S-M Marine Lake

W-S-M Marine Lake beach, Somerset

Marine Lake lies at the northern end of Weston-super-Mare and overlooks Glentworth Bay.

A wooden walkway effectively connects Anchor Head in the northwest to the Knightstone in the southeast. The area behind the walkway known as Marine Lake. Constructed in 1927 the Lake was built so that visitors could swim when the tide was out.

A small sandy beach lies at its southeastern corner which is often busy due to its proximity to the town itself. Facilities within easy walking distance include shops, cafés, refreshment kiosks, ice creams and toilets. Parking and disabled parking are available in a number of car parks.

There are plenty of things to do in the town. There are all the usual kiosks, shops, cafés and amusements on the Grand Pier a short walk away with swimming, watersports including sailing, windsurfing and jet-skiing on the main beach.

Why not take a visit to the Sea-Life Centre or a pleasure boat cruise to Flat Holm in the Severn Estuary?

Dogs are banned on Marine Lake all year round.
