Minehead Strand

Along with Weston-super-Mare, Minehead is one of Somerset's busiest holiday resorts. The town offers a wide range of amenities and is synonymous with the large Butlins holiday park.
Minehead Strand is a wide north facing sand beach that looks out across the Bristol Channel towards Wales.
Facilities nearby include shops, toilets, disabled toilets and amusement arcades. Pay and Display parking is available. The beach is popular for bathing, kite surfing and windsurfing and the holiday park offers further activities including the indoor 'Splash Waterworld' if the weather is poor. Butlins is open to day visitors from 9.30am to 6pm.
Minehead is the starting point for the 630 mile long South West Coast Path that wends its way around the coast of the South West to Poole in Dorset. The eyecatching bronze monument above the beach is based on a design by a local art student.
