The Museum is normally open from 10am to 2pm, Tuesday -Saturday.
The Museum will close for the winter at the end of November 2012, and reopen in March 2013

The Museum's current building was opened in 1869 as the Scientific and Literary Institution.The Frome Society for Local Study was formed in 1958 and in 1966 at the suggestion of theTown Council started a museum in Old Church House at Church Steps. At the same time the Museum Trust was established. It then moved to the Wine Street House in 1976, and in the mid 1980s the Museum moved to the first and second floors of its present building and split from the Frome Society for Local Study. Finally in 2000 the Trustees of the Museum acquired the whole building and the museum was moved to the ground floor.
