Bath Abbey is an active Christian church situated at the heart of the city. Founded in 1499, it stands on the site of an earlier Norman Cathedral and the original Abbey Church built in the 8th century. Whether you visit for a service, a concert, or an exhibition; to admire the building, to study the Abbey's story of faith, or simply to spend time in quiet, we pray that you will experience something of God's grace - of earth and heaven meeting in this place.
A Tower Tour gives visitors to the Abbey a chance to look at the building from a very different perspective. There are 212 steps to the top of the Tower arranged in 2 spiral staircases. Tickets cost £6.00 for adults; £3.00 for children (5 – 15). Children must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by a responsible adult on a 1:1 basis.
