Baytree is a spacious Victorian house quiet but centrally located overlooking Blenheim Gardens Minehead in the West Country. Its location is at the bottom of North Hill with a 5 minute level walk to the sea front and all amenities that the commercial town area has to offer. Large guest bed/sitting room units with en suite facilities are on the second floor. Each has a colour TV an alarm clock radio and an extensive choice of beverage making facilities. The breakfast room is on the ground floor. Extensive choices on the menu for Breakfast which is served in the attractive Victorian dining room at a time requested by guests. Covered storage facilities are available for cycles and a drying room for walkers and cyclists clothing. For guests staying two or more nights we provide maps guides to National Trust properties and other historic centres walk publications and latest details of other tourist attractions. Holnicote House lies at the heart of a 12500 acre estate in the Exmoor National Park. Owned by the National Trust this historic country house is set amidst peaceful gardens with an outdoor heated pool (open in the summer). There are 34 bedrooms in the main building and in cottages in the grounds. Facilities include two lounges a dining room bar and ballroom. The Exmoor National Park offers many excellent walking and cycling routes many from the door of Holnicote House with the opportunity to spot red deer and Exmoor ponies. Close by are the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth connected by their Victorian cliff railway and just a short walk from the fascinating Valley of Rocks. The beach at Minehead is popular with families as is the West Somerset steam railway. Also nearby are several historic National Trust properties including Dunster Castle.

The Vale of Porlock is where Exmoor rolls down to the sea. You can enjoy walking riding cycling shooting to name but a few all within easy reach of Hunters Lodge and Porlock village is a two minute walk away with boutique shops restaurants and tea shops. The shingle beach is close by too with stunning scenery all round and plenty of wildlife to observe. Overstream Guest House
The Overstream is located in the heart of Porlock and is ideally situated for all local activities including Exmoor National Park and the magnificent coastline. It consists of some of the most breath taking and unrivalled scenery in the country with a superb mixture of dramatic coastline rolling moorland and beautiful secluded combes. There are 600 miles of rights of way over footpaths and bridleways and many thousand of acres of open moorland on which public access is permitted. The Langbury is the large Edwardian home of Nigel and Paula Smythe. Originally built as a gentleman's residence, it stands in its own grounds set in an elevated position in the small coastal village of Blue Anchor.
Here you will find a friendly welcoming atmosphere combined with individual attention and an excellent Aga cooked, locally sourced, breakfast.
Accommodation is provided in five individually furnished rooms which all enjoy magnificent views of the sea and the hills of glorious Exmoor and the Quantocks which are a feast for the eyes at any time of year.
We are approximately half a mile outside of the Exmoor National Park and three miles from the medieval village of Dunster with its fairy-tale National Trust Castle. The traditional seaside resort of Minehead is five miles to the west and the ancient harbour town of Watchet three miles to the East.

The Parks Guest House
The Parks is a fine-looking Grade II listed Georgian property located in a quiet area of Minehead on the lower slopes of North Hill. You can walk right onto Exmoor from here and the coast is also close by! The town of Minehead is just a few minutes walk away offering shops, restaurants and amenities to fulfil all your needs.
Our hearty Exmoor Breakfast is the perfect way to start your day and will set you up to enjoy all that Exmoor, Minehead and the surrounding villages have to offer. Ten minutes walk will bring you to the famous West Somerset Railway and many other local attractions are easily accessible.

Tudor Cottage is in the beautiful village of Bossington given to the National Trust in 1945 as part of the Holnicote Estate. The cottage has been tastefully modernised combining old world charm with today s comfort and offers three rooms each with either en-suite facilities or it s own shower room with toilet and basin. Start the day with a traditional English breakfast or with something lighter as you plan your exploration in this beautiful part of the country. For those who want to forget the car there is plenty of walking from the front door in the immediate vicinity or off across the moor. Also the moor can be enjoyed by car with plenty of places to stop and admire the scenery and the wildlife and the peace of it all. br / br / br / br / For those who want a change from walking but don t want to drive there are safaris. These provide an opportunity for relaxed exploration plus an opportunity to learn about the area. Transport does not have to be petrol powered. Bicycles are available from Minehead and there is a Pedal Around Porlock circular tour as well as the opportunity to plan your own route. For those who really want to get to grips with the country and get off of the beaten track the area is ideal for horse riding and rides can be arranged for beginners and for the more experienced. br / br / br / br / There are many attractions both close by and further afield. The nearest apart from nature itself is Exmoor Falconry and Animal farm where you can see a wide range of birds of prey and watch demonstrations. The Falconry also offers the opportunity for a hands on experience . Some 20 minutes walk away is the village of Porlock which for a small village has retained a remarkable range of shops and has a museum and its visitor centre where all are welcome to drop in for a chat and to get some information and ideas for places to visit.
