Cider has been produced at Richs Cider Farm at Watchfield for over 50 years. There have been many changes since Gordon Rich started pressing cider apples at Mill Farm although essentially the production of the juice is still traditional. In the Autumn the air is filled with the wonderfully heady aroma of crushed apples as the oak vats are filled with amber nectar.
The Cider Press Restaurant serves breakfasts, special lunch time dishes, cream teas made with local clotted cream, delicious home made cakes and vegetarian options, there will also be a carvery on Sunday lunch times.A great deal of pride is taken in the food, and everything is cooked and prepared to order with the finest fresh ingredients. The Cider Press Restaurant was recently awarded 5 stars for its excellence in food, hygiene and saftey standards.
